Lyne Pringle has over 30 years of experience working as a dance/theatre artist in New Zealand, Australia and New York and is deeply committed to the development of New Zealand performing arts.
She has produced over 30 dance works including Kilt, Fishnet and Lily which premiered in April 2009. In 2003 she formed Bipeds Productions, which she co-directs with Kilda Northcott.
Lily signals a new direction; creating work that interfaces with particular communities, in this instance forming a partnership with a local dance teacher to create a celebratory piece of theatre, it featured at the Nelson Festival in October 2010.
As the Caroline Plummer community dance fellow at Otago University in 2011 she will refine this vision and create St Kilda and St Clair. This dance will explore the relationship that local residents have with two Dunedin beaches.
Since 2002 there has also been a focus on writing and text whilst completing postgraduate study at Victoria University.
