Nancy is an independent Choreographer and Dancer based in Auckland. A graduate from the Unitec dance degree which led her to the realm of contemporary dance. She has been privileged to work for some of NZ most innovative and renowned dance companies/artists, which has led her career to many exciting locations around the globe as well as connecting her to a wealth of professional experience.
This year she was a dancer in Okareka dance companies successful all female cast production - Mana Wahine, which toured 12 cities throughout New Zealand. She is also a core dancer for Atamira Dance Company and is currently in rehearsal working on a new work with Choreographer Kelly Nash. More recently she has just returned back from New Caledonia working with Maado Dance Company performing in the Mt Dore festival 2014. Some career highlights include performing at the prestigious Jacobs pillow with Atamira dance company, Douglas Wright’s rapt in Holland and the selection of her choreography Paarua – Double contact’ in a programme called Kaha (Atamira dance co.) that toured to Hawaii and North America. Nancy is also a qualified fitness instructor with an avid sporting background. She is currently in training as a body practitioner in Contact Care for both animals and people. Class Description Nancy teaches a M&B styled class with a sport science focus, influenced by Nancy's fitness training and healing/body practices. Train the body by moving with the idea of ease and comfort - 'away from pain.' Find an efficiency in movement while training mental focus and stamina. |
