Sarah has worked extensively in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Europe as a choreographer, teacher and dancer since graduating from the New Zealand School of Dance in 1997.
Sarah’s classes combine improvisation with structured choreographic phrases, and aim to explore finding new possibilities of movement within the body.
Sarah currently works as a teacher and choreographer for the University of Auckland Dance Studies programme, Unitec, and Auckland Academy of Dance. She is also a guest teacher at the New Zealand School of Dance. In late 2013 she was Guest Artistic Director of Footnote Dance Company, and during this time she created Colt with the company performers.
In 2015 Sarah will collaborate with Okareka Dance Company, The Conch Theatre Company, and the New Zealand School of Dance. Additionally she will undertake a Master of Dance Studies with a focus on intellectual property and copyright within devised contemporary dance works.
